Uhuu Studio
Uhuu Studio is an AI-powered document creation platform that helps you generate visually structured documents from scratch or from examples like PDF files. It is designed to streamline document production by understanding user intent, suggesting layouts, and auto-generating content-ready pages.
Getting Started
1. Choose How to Begin
Upon visiting studio.uhuu.io, you'll be prompted with:
- Start from Scratch: Describe your document idea.
- Import from PDF: Upload a sample PDF to extract structure and auto-generate editable layouts.
Option 1: Start from Scratch
Type what your document is about.
- Example: "Real Estate Brochure for a Villa in Ibiza"
- Optionally, choose a preferred page size.
Uhuu will:
- Generate a Board (your working document space).
- Extract your intent.
- Create a JSON form to configure parameters (e.g., destination, travel style, etc.).
Based on form values, Uhuu will:
- Select relevant layouts.
- Suggest optional Editions (pre-curated layout sets).
- Populate a content-ready document.
Option 2: Import a PDF
Upload a reference PDF.
Uhuu analyzes it to:
- Detect structure, layout style, and formatting.
- Extract intent schema and fields.
- Generate a Board pre-filled with matching layouts.
You can then reuse or customize these layouts to produce similar documents faster.
Adding Pages
For each page:
Select a Layout (Text Only, Media + Text, Grid, etc.).
Provide content via:
- Text input
- PDF upload
- URL input
Click Generate Page — Uhuu fits the content into the chosen layout.
Creating Documents
Once inside your Board:
Click “New Document” to start.
Fill in form fields (intent-based).
Click Start Generation to:
- Automatically create pages.
- Use layouts that match your intent.
Or click Create Blank to:
- Manually add pages.
- Pick layouts yourself.
Layout Registry
- All pages are made of reusable layout blocks.
- Blocks can be auto-selected based on your intent or picked manually.
- Editions and boards work together to define how document pages are initialized.
Layouts
Layouts define the grid structure of a page. You add content blocks—such as text, images, or maps—into the available grid areas depending on the selected layout. Uhuu can also select layouts automatically based on your form input or intent.
When adding a page, you pick a layout and then decide what content to use—either a text prompt, a document, or a URL. Uhuu will use that input to fill the layout automatically.
Overlays
Overlays are design layers placed over the background and before the main content on each page. They help define reusable visual elements like logos, headers, section dividers, or decorative graphics. This works similarly to master pages in tools like InDesign.
Overlays help unify the visual identity across a document. You can enable or disable them per page depending on the design. They work alongside your layout to keep documents visually consistent and print-ready.
Editions
Editions are predefined sets of layout pages that help you create consistent documents quickly. Each edition is made up of layouts arranged in a specific order—for example, a property guide might use an 4-pager edition with cover, intro, highlights, and map pages.
You can manage your editions under the Editions tab inside a board. There, you can create new editions from selected layouts, see how many pages each one contains, reorder them, or update existing ones.
If you don’t select an edition, you can still build from scratch or let Uhuu auto-pick layouts based on your form input.
